David's short form bio >David Mountseer holds a first class honors degree in applied science from NSWIT (1975), now University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). He also holds a Masters degree in Environmental Science, Macquarie University (1980).
David’s began his professional career with the Commonwealth Public Service (CPS), during which time he also undertook his tertiary training, firstly as a part-time student at NSWIT and then as a full-time sponsored student under a competitively won Commonwealth award at Macquarie University. A successful CPS career culminated with his appointment to a newly-created position of Head, Energy Secretariat, Department of Housing and Construction. This was a leading-edge initiative at the time, designed to drive energy efficiency into design and operating and maintenance practices of Commonwealth facilities. In 1982 David transitioned from the Commonwealth Government to the private sector and established a business (Entech Services P/L, Trading as “The Energy Centre”) offering energy efficiency consulting, design, product supply and contracting services. This was leading-edge at the time and enjoyed significant success in this entirely new field. As a result of changing market conditions, David sold the business in 1986 and decided to take his experiences into the commercial property sector. He joined the Lend Lease Group in 1987 as one of a core group who established the subsidiary - Lend Lease Interiors, a company that dominated the commercial buildings recycling and fit-out market for many years. His career continued to develop through further senior management roles with Fletcher Construction and Bovis TPC. In 2007 he was approached by Tyco to establish an energy performance contracting business in Australia, a form of contracting entirely new to this country. David developed this business until it was purchased by AGL (in 2000). He was invited to join AGL soon after to run the operation. During the nine years David had with AGL, he developed several new initiatives in the energy efficiency field that covered virtually every aspect of energy efficiency in the economy. In March 2009 David became a founding director of eneSolve. David’s career has been dominated by leading-edge initiatives in energy efficiency over 30 years, always firmly founded on his core project management and contracting skills.
